IEBC Announces 12,520 Temporary Job Opportunities for Kenyans – How to Apply
The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has announced 12,520 temporary job opportunities to support a 30-day Enhanced Continuous Voter Registration (ECVR) exercise at the ward level.
In a public notice dated February 25, 2026, the Commission confirmed that the enhanced registration drive is intended to strengthen and support the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) currently taking place at constituency offices across the country.
To facilitate the smooth rollout of the nationwide exercise, IEBC is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill temporary positions for the duration of the ECVR period.
Available positions
The temporary roles available are:
- 1,450 Voter Registration Assistants
- 10,780 Voter Registration Clerks
- 290 ICT Clerks

General requirements
Applicants must:
- Be Kenyan citizens
- Meet the minimum academic qualifications for the position applied for
- Not have held office, stood for election as a candidate, or served as a party agent within the last five years
- Be available for the entire registration period
Successful candidates will be required to undergo training and take an oath of secrecy. Applicants must also provide copies of their National Identification Card, academic certificates, and any relevant testimonials.
Voter Registration Clerk requirements
To qualify for the Voter Registration Clerk position, applicants must:
- Be Kenyan citizens aged 19 years and above
- Have a minimum KCSE grade of C- (minus) or its equivalent
- Possess computer literacy and ICT skills
A diploma in ICT, Statistics, Education, Business Administration, or a related field will be an added advantage. Candidates must also demonstrate integrity, accountability, and confidentiality.
ICT Clerk requirements
Applicants for the ICT Clerk position must:
- Hold a Certificate or Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field from a recognized institution
- Have basic knowledge of computer hardware, software applications, and networking
- Be able to troubleshoot common ICT issues under pressure
- Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Show integrity, neutrality, and confidentiality
- Be Kenyan citizens and registered voters
- Be available to work long hours, including weekends and public holidays
Voter Registration Assistant requirements
To qualify as a Voter Registration Assistant, applicants must:
- Be Kenyan citizens and registered voters
- Be at least 21 years old
- Be residents of the constituency or ward where they are applying
- Hold a minimum Diploma in ICT or a related field
- Be available for the entire registration period
- Be able to communicate effectively in English and Kiswahili, with knowledge of local languages considered an added advantage
- Demonstrate integrity, impartiality, and respect for diversity
- Be willing to work long hours under field conditions
