One Acre Fund’s Young Professionals Program provides talented African graduates with hands-on experience and professional training within a high-performing and impact-driven organization. Interns are fully integrated into teams and assigned meaningful responsibilities from the start. About the Role: Global Recruitment Intern
The Global Recruitment Intern will be a member of the Global Recruitment Team and will specifically support the Operations sub-team. In this role, you will report directly to the Recruitment Senior Coordinator while also collaborating closely with other team members across the global recruitment function.
Key Responsibilities
As a Global Recruitment Intern, you will complete recurring recruitment tasks to ensure recruitment operations run smoothly and with minimal errors. You will oversee the candidate screening and selection process from application to hire, ensuring a positive and professional candidate experience at every stage. Providing excellent customer service to all candidates will be a key aspect of your role, and you must enjoy working with details and maintaining high standards of accuracy.
You will manage and maintain the candidate database using the organization’s Applicant Tracking System (ATS), ensuring all records are accurate and up to date. You will also analyze recruitment data to identify patterns, track progress, and suggest improvements that enhance efficiency and effectiveness. In collaboration with your manager, you will support change and process improvement initiatives within the recruitment systems, using data-driven insights to strengthen outcomes and reduce errors.
Career Growth and Development

As an intern, you will have weekly check-ins with your manager to discuss progress, challenges, and development areas. You will have access to mentorship and training opportunities designed to strengthen both your technical and professional skills.
Regular performance feedback will help you track your growth, and career reviews will be conducted every one to three months to discuss your aspirations and long-term goals. Interns are given opportunities to contribute meaningfully to organizational growth and to gain rewarding technical experience in recruitment operations and systems improvement.
Qualifications
Across all roles, One Acre Fund seeks candidates who demonstrate strong learning ability, integrity, attention to detail, and collaboration skills.
For this specific role, candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study. Applicants should demonstrate strong attention to detail, curiosity, and the ability to learn quickly. Basic data analysis skills are required, particularly the ability to identify patterns and interpret information. Candidates should be comfortable maintaining trackers and working with Excel or Google Sheets. Strong collaboration skills and experience working with different stakeholders are important. Proficiency in English is required.
It is considered an added advantage to have six months to one year of recruitment or relevant HR experience. Experience using Applicant Tracking Systems such as Greenhouse is desirable but not compulsory.
Additional Details
The preferred start date for this role is as soon as possible. The job location is Nairobi, Kenya. Interns will receive a reasonable stipend for the duration of their contract. For rural area-based fellows, assistance will be provided in locating suitable housing.
