Job Purpose
To grow Trade Finance income and business volumes through effective management of Trade Finance customers, while ensuring full compliance with internal procedures, operational controls, and regulatory requirements across multiple sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive growth of Trade Finance income and business volumes across assigned portfolios, from deal origination, structuring, credit approval, contracting, placement, and final execution within optimal timelines.
- Develop and implement the Bank’s Trade Finance strategy, products, and business plans, while continuously reviewing performance against set targets.
- Prospect for new-to-bank clients in collaboration with Relationship Managers and offer innovative, customized Trade Finance solutions.
- Market and sell Trade Finance products through branches and the Commercial Centre.
- Ensure strong cross-selling of existing and new products to both existing and new clients by providing technical expertise and conducting joint client calls.
- Maintain effective liaison with all relevant business units across the Bank.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with market participants, including international banks, financial institutions, Trade Finance intermediaries, and corporates.
- Organize and participate in internal and external Trade Finance forums to enhance market presence and expand the Trade Finance offering.
- Provide advisory services on Trade Finance products, solutions, transactions, and services to stakeholders across the Bank.
- Monitor market trends, industry developments, and competitors to support business acquisition and product development.
- Ensure full compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
- Initiate and strengthen DIB Group relationships in key markets to support Kenya’s import and export trade.
- Market and grow Trade Finance business originating from Financial Institutions in Kenya and the region.
- Support Relationship Managers and Branch Managers in product development and sales initiatives to sustain and grow the Bank’s market share.
- Ensure adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with relevant business units.
- Contribute to positioning DIB Bank Kenya as a leading Trade Finance Bank through continuous product innovation and superior customer service delivery.
Job Specification
Education
- Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
Skills & Training
- Strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
- In-depth knowledge of Trade Finance and Corporate Banking products.
- Strong understanding of DIB Bank’s strategy and policies.
Work Experience
- 5–6 years’ experience in Commercial Banking.
- At least 4 years’ experience in Trade Finance product development.
Core Competencies
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and team-building skills.
- Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment.
- Strong market knowledge of Trade Finance and the local corporate banking landscape.
- Strategic vision and awareness of future market trends.
