APA Insurance Limited is seeking a skilled Actuarial Analyst to support financial, regulatory, and actuarial reporting, capital modelling, and pricing initiatives. This role is ideal for candidates with strong analytical skills, actuarial experience, and proficiency in actuarial modelling tools.

Key Responsibilities

Financial & Regulatory Reporting

  • Support production and review of IFRS 17 valuation results and disclosures.
  • Assist in statutory filings per Insurance Regulatory Authority (IRA) requirements and internal management reports (e.g., VNB, VIF, EV).
  • Collaborate with the finance team to align actuals vs. budget and enhance monthly close efficiency.

Experience Monitoring

  • Perform periodic claims experience analyses to guide pricing and reserving assumptions.
  • Provide actionable recommendations to management.

Capital Modelling

  • Conduct capital adequacy assessments under local solvency regulations.
  • Assist in producing Capital Adequacy reports with recommendations.

Pricing & Product Development

  • Price new individual and group life products, ensuring profitability, competitiveness, and regulatory compliance.
  • Enhance pricing tools and profitability testing models.

Budgeting & Strategic Actuarial Inputs

  • Provide actuarial inputs for IFRS 17 budgets and five-year business planning.
  • Collaborate closely with finance to support budgeting and strategic planning processes.

Qualifications & Requirements

Academic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science or related field.
  • Master’s in Actuarial Management is an advantage.

Professional Qualifications

  • Progress toward actuarial qualification (minimum 6 papers).

Experience

  • Minimum 4 years’ actuarial experience, preferably in life insurance.
  • Experience with IFRS 17 valuation, VIF, VNB, and Embedded Value is a plus.

Technical Skills

  • Proficient in actuarial modelling tools (Basys, RiskIntegrity, Excel VBA, Python, R).
  • Familiarity with Power BI or other dashboarding tools is a plus.
